What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Superintendent position at Precision Industrial Contractors?
Precision Industrial Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Civil Concrete Superintendent for immediate hire.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily concrete construction activities at a work site.
Responsible for safety, scope, budget, & schedule & the overall progress of the project, as well as the scheduling of workers & the delivery of equipment & materials.
Interpreting blueprints & reading survey stakes to establish grade & estimating volume of concrete required for specific jobs.
Incumbents instruct & direct a small group of laborers engaged in mixing & placing concrete, as required, particularly on larger jobs.
Estimates concrete quantities, appropriate mixes of sand & cement if concrete is hand mixed.
Instructs & directs laborers and/or personally performs duties of cutting & placing reinforcing wire mesh, preparing appropriate sand & cement mixtures & placing, pouring & rough leveling of concrete.
Fine finishes concrete by floating, troweling, edging & brushing in accordance with specifications.
Interprets blueprints & reads survey stakes to establish correct grades.
Utilizes hand tools & non-complex small power tools & performs minor maintenance as required.
Works with contractors to complete project within the given budget & time frame.
Resolves contract disputes & arranges any necessary order changes.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, & procedures.
Relies on experience & judgment to plan & accomplish goals.
Leads & directs the work of concrete workers on site.
A wide degree of creativity & latitude is expected.
Qualifications, Education, & Experience:
OSHA 30 certification – If you do not hold this certificate, you will be required to attain it as part of your initial training.
Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in concrete construction and maintenance.
Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Follow instructions & read blueprints.
Look at flat drawings or pictures & visualize how they would look as solid objects.
Work at heights without fear.
Use logical step-by-step procedures in work.
Plan work & solve problems.
Make decisions based on measurable information.
Perform a variety of duties which may change often.
Operate machinery.
Additional Qualifications, Education, & Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
