Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer – PRN
Location: Old St Augustine Road in Mandarin – Jacksonville, FL
Schedule: Fridays and other shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.
We are looking for an experienced PRN Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer to join our team of medical imaging professionals in northeast Florida. Now is an exciting time to consider joining Precision Imaging Centers due to our continued expansion in the Jacksonville Metro area and beyond. We currently operate five centers, and we are also in the process of opening a new center in Orlando, FL.
This PRN position requires availability to cover Fridays and additional shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends, at our Old St Augustine Road location.
Description
An Echo Technologist performs cardiac sonograms ordered by a referring physician to provide excellent service and patient care. Echo technologists specialize in cardiac care, performing echocardiograms, carotid scans, venous and arterial studies, and transesophageal echocardiograms. The ideal candidate is well-versed in cardiac, vascular, and general ultrasound and is committed to creating a calm, patient-focused environment.
Essential Functions
- Perform cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams according to established protocols
- Ensure quality imaging that meets or exceeds ICAEL standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate effectively with clinical staff
- Stay up to date with continuing education and best practices in cardiovascular sonography
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of cardiovascular sonography
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS, RVT, or CCI)
- Current BLS certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical setting is highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced outpatient environment
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand for extended periods and assist in positioning patients as needed
