Job Title: Fabrication Shop Manager – Corrugated Hose & Assemblies
Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Shop Manager to run daily operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment producing stainless steel corrugated hose assemblies. This is a production-driven role—responsible for hitting output, reducing scrap, building a reliable team, and keeping your facility supplied.
This is not a desk job. You’ll be on the floor, solving problems, pushing production, and making sure the work gets done right.
What You’ll Be Doing (Day-to-Day)
•
Own a safe work environment. We expect 0 accidents throughout the year.
•
Own daily production
•
Drive throughput to meet demand
•
Monitor and improve key metrics: safety, output, scrap, downtime, and labor efficiency
•
Identify bottlenecks and fix them quickly (equipment, staffing, process issues)
•
Work directly with operators to keep lines running
•
Coordinate workflow between preparation, welding, testing, and shipping
•
Ensure jobs are prioritized correctly to meet delivery commitments
•
Troubleshoot quality and production issues in real time
•
Get ahead of problems—not report on them after the fact
People & Leadership
•
Supervise staff and create a high performing team
•
Build and maintain staffing levels
•
Train and develop employees to improve versatility and output
•
Hold the team accountable for performance, attendance, and quality
•
Step in wherever needed—this is a working leadership role
Process & Continuous Improvement
•
Improve production flow, reduce scrap, and increase efficiency
•
Standardize work where it makes sense—but keep it practical
•
Work on equipment uptime and reliability
•
Help implement better tooling, setups, and shop practices
•
Support ISO/quality requirements without slowing production down
What We’re Looking For
•
Experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment (metal, hose, pipe, tubing, or similar)
•
Strong understanding of production flow and throughput
•
Proven ability to drive output and manage a shop floor
•
Comfortable managing multiple processes at once (prep, welding, testing, etc.)
•
Hands-on leader—not afraid to get involved in the work
•
Experience building teams
•
Ability to make decisions quickly and keep things moving
Preferred Experience
•
Welding Stainless steel corrugated hose assemblies or similar products
•
Welding and fabrication processes
•
Low-mix, High-volume production environments
•
ISO 9001 or structured quality systems (practical application, not paperwork-heavy)
