Tile Laborer – Precision Home Builders (St. Augustine / East Palatka, FL)
Precision Home Builders is a growing residential builder based in the St. Augustine and East Palatka area, specializing in new construction homes. We are looking for a reliable Tile Laborer to support our tile installers and site supervisors on active job sites.
Position Overview
The Tile Laborer will assist with all phases of tile installation, including preparation, material handling, job site cleanliness, and punch‑out. This role works directly with our tile setters and site supervisors to keep projects on schedule and up to Precision’s quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with layout and preparation of floors, showers, and backsplashes for tile installation
- Mix thinset, grout, and other setting materials as directed
- Cut tile under direction of lead installer (using wet saws and handheld tools)
- Carry, stage, and organize tile, mortar, grout, and other materials on site
- Help install backer board, underlayment, and waterproofing systems
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas during and after installs
- Assist with demo and removal of existing tile, thinset, and debris as needed
- Perform basic punch‑out, caulking, grout touch‑ups, and detail cleaning
- Follow directions from supervisors and communicate issues or material needs promptly
- Adhere to all jobsite safety rules and company policies
Qualifications
- Prior construction or tile experience REQUIRED.
- Owns and is comfortable using basic hand tools, power tools, and tile cutting equipment
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly and work on your feet throughout the day
- Reliable transportation to jobs in the St. Augustine / East Palatka and surrounding areas
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-time, typically Monday–Thursday; occasional Fridays - Saturdays as needed
- Work hours generally follow job site schedule (day shift 4x 10hr days)
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
- Opportunities for growth into lead tile installer or broader carpentry/finishes roles
