About the Practice

We are a private, patient-focused Optimal Health Medicine™ practice in Coconut Creek providing proactive, data-driven medical care. Our clinical team uses advanced laboratory testing, DEXA bone-density and body-composition analysis, and longitudinal health tracking as part of a comprehensive approach to patient care.

This is not a traditional high-volume hospital radiology position. The person in this role works closely with our providers and clinical team, develops ongoing relationships with patients, and combines DEXA scanning with clinical patient-support responsibilities.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Florida-licensed Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) or Radiologic Technologist to perform DEXA bone-density and body-composition scans and support day-to-day patient care and clinical operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with technology, meticulous with documentation, confident interacting directly with patients, and comfortable moving between DEXA scanning and clinical-office responsibilities throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Perform DEXA bone-density and full-body composition scans under appropriate practitioner supervision and in accordance with Florida law, certification scope, equipment requirements, and practice protocols.
  • Prepare patients for DEXA procedures and explain scan preparation and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning, scan acquisition, and documentation.
  • Coordinate and track DEXA scans, laboratory testing, and follow-up appointments as directed by providers.
  • Room patients and obtain and document vital signs.
  • Review and update medical history, medications, and allergies in the EHR.
  • Retrieve laboratory results and organize records for provider review.
  • Assist with laboratory coordination, appointment reminders, follow-up scheduling, and communicating provider-approved information to patients.
  • Receive, document, and route medication refill requests to the appropriate licensed provider according to practice protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR.
  • Assist patients with non-clinical questions regarding procedures and practice protocols.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and practice policies.
  • Maintain all required Florida certification and continuing-education requirements.
  • Assist with additional clinical and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Florida Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) certification or applicable Florida radiologic technologist certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer and EHR skills.
  • Excellent patient communication and customer-service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple patient-care responsibilities.

Preferred

  • At least one year of experience in a medical practice or clinical setting.
  • DEXA bone-density or body-composition scanning experience.
  • Experience with outpatient medical practices.
  • Previous patient intake, laboratory coordination, or clinical-support experience.

DEXA experience is strongly preferred; training may be available for an otherwise highly qualified Florida-licensed candidate.
