What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Precision Golf Irrigation/Albanese Golf Course...?
Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive entry-level Project Manager to lead our
construction management and design teams. In this role, you will be the bridge between our clients
(golf course superintendents, course architects, and design consultants) and our field
crews, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest
industry standards.
The ideal candidate understands that golf course construction management isn't just
about moving dirt and putting pipe in the ground—it's about quality control, clear and
consistent communication and minimizing disruption to client operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop comprehensive timelines for project
phasing and completion. Coordinate timing with subcontractors and material
vendors.
- Field Leadership: Oversee on-site foremen and crews. Ensure that all work is
performed according to the design specifications and approved by the
Architect/Design Consultant.
- Golf Course Design, Material Take-offs and Bid Proposal Development
- Budget Management: Track labor hours and material costs. Manage "Change
Orders" when unforeseen site conditions (like rock or high water tables) arise.
- Technical Oversight: Read and interpret printed plans and schematics. Ensure
proper GPS mapping of all project elements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for the Golf
Course Superintendent and Owner / Planning Committee. Provide weekly progress
reports and manage expectations regarding course downtime.
- Quality Control & Safety: Conduct quality checks throughout the project and
confirm all punchlist items are completed and signed-off by the
client/architect/designer. Also ensure all OSHA safety protocols are followed in the
trenches.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Associate degree or higher level in relevant field of study (i.e. design,
engineering, construction management, turf management, etc.) Alternatively, wewill consider candidates with 1-3 years of project management experience in heavy
civil construction, landscaping, or golf course irrigation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading project plans and schematics. Experience
with GPS mapping software is a major plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities. You must be able to adjust schedules
on the fly due to weather or equipment issues.
- Physical Ability: Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and
travel to project sites as needed.
