ABOUT THE COMPANY: We specialize in garage doors! We handle anything related to a garage door including - New garage door installations; garage door opener repair; garage door maintenance; track, spring and cable repair; and 25 point safety inspections.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will oversee payroll and benefits functions for all locations. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role ensures accurate payroll processing and benefit administration in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Direct bi-weekly payroll processing in ADP for all markets.
• Administer benefit programs, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, COBRA, ancillary benefits, and retirement benefits according to plan provisions and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Advise employees and managers on eligibility, coverage, and other benefits.
• Assist with the annual open enrollment project and process, including project planning, collaboration with vendors, communications, meetings, system configuration updates and testing, employee enrollment, post-enrollment audits, etc.
• Reconcile benefits vendor invoices.
• Responds to internal and external payroll data or report requests from employees, agencies and auditors.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and make legally required deductions.
• Collaborate with finance department to ensure payroll-related transactions are reconciled and recorded appropriately.
• Maintain compliance with payroll-related laws and regulations.
• Assist with all unemployment claims. Prepare documents and all paperwork required for the claims process.
• Provide integration support and alignment for new acquisitions while ensuring seamless transition of benefit policies and HRIS during the acquisition.
• Lead process improvement initiatives designed to improve payroll processing efficiency and accuracy, implementing best practices and improvements as necessary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development.
• Minimum of 5 years of payroll and benefits experience with experience in a residential services company preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, knowledge management, and records management tools.
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws, unemployment regulations, and wage-hour laws
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface with all levels of the organization, influence decision makers and set and manage expectations.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on the functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 20 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment. Routine use of standard office equipment including computers, printers, scanners, and telephones is required. Occasional visits to company locations, warehouses, or operational facilities may occur. The work environment is generally quiet to moderate noise levels typical of an office setting.
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the ability to read and interpret financial data, reports, and spreadsheets on a computer screen and in printed form. In addition, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, via phone, and through written communication such as email and reports. Must be able to analyze complex financial information and maintain attention to detail. Possess the ability to hear and respond to verbal communication in meetings, conference calls, and presentations.
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
