Job Description:
We are searching for a full-time, detail-oriented Garage Door Service Technician/Installer to join our team. In this role, the Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing residential garage doors. The Technician will also perform preventative maintenance and proactive repairs when needed. Other duties include taking measurements and assessing the needs of customers before offering suggestions for door size, materials, or features.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all IDA safety protocols and regulations while working on site.
- Complete a 25-point safety inspection on site.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with garage door systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
- Perform routine safety and maintenance checks to ensure proper functioning of garage doors and related equipment.
- Install new garage door systems, including tracks, panels, springs, openers and other components.
- Repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning parts such as cables, springs, rollers, sensors, etc.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent on each job.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including answering customer questions and addressing concerns.
- Basic maintenance and upkeep of assigned fleet vehicle including, oil changes, washes, wiper blade replacement, etc.
- Proper maintenance of all company provided tools and assets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Previous garage door industry experience (1 year required)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate powered equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
