CNC MACHINIST - 2nd Shift – Full-Time or Part-Time
We are a family owned and run company with over a half century of experience in engineering and manufacturing medical device and Aerospace components. We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team. Our second shift works from 4 pm to 12:30 am. This position offers a great opportunity for further professional development and career advancement.
The CNC Machinist (Mill / Lathe) will be responsible for:
· Running a CNC Mill and/or Lathe machine proficiently.
· Operates machine tools to produce quality precision components per blue prints, sketches and verbal instruction.
· Follows job routers, blueprints, engineering sketches, specifications and the supervisor’s instructions.
· Uses basic and advanced measuring to check precision components.
· Change cutting tools.
· Read and interprets blue prints and specs.
· Make program offsets.
· Sets up machines.
· Resolves production issues.
· Performs machine maintenance.
· Makes adjustments to mills and other equipment as needed to maintain part dimensions and tolerances.
· Verifies the quality of the parts being producing by measuring the parts, making adjustments to the machine and replacing worn tools as needed.
· Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
· Maintains a neat, clean and safe work area.
· Communicates between work shifts by documenting job details via written and verbal means.
· Documents work by completing production routers correctly.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in company training.
· Accepts ownership for the job and is responsible for good quality.
· Responsible to follow all company rules and policies.
· Performs other tasks as required.
Required qualifications:
· 10 years experience in setting up and operating a CNC lathe with the ability to make program and tool changes as needed.
· Able to read, interpret and follow technical drawings and sketches
· Able to use measurement instrumentation such as calipers, micrometers, etc. to check their own work.
