Cleanroom Technician (Dye Pen)

About Us:

Precision Fluid Controls, Inc. designs, manufactures and tests components for launch vehicles and ground support applications—providing many types of valves including throttling valves, ball valves, check and relief valves, vent and relief valves, pressure reducing, both manual and dome loaded, regulators, sleeve valves, butterfly valves, solenoid valves plus many others.

About the role:

PFC is in search for a Clean Room Technician who will be responsible for assembling our aerospace valves and other components for launch vehicles (rockets!).

The role is a fully on-site role located in our Lincoln, CA offices and will report directly to the Production Manager.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

What You’ll Do:

In this role as a Clean Room Technician, you will work in a state-of-the-art clean room, supporting aerospace manufacturing operations. You will:

• Test aerospace components using air velocity and particle analyzers


• Perform dye penetrant (liquid penetrant) inspection to detect surface defects in aerospace components


• Set up and operate inspection and testing instrumentation


• Apply contamination control processes and techniques within clean room and laminar flow environments


• Collect and analyze particle samples


• Perform non-volatile residue (NVR) testing


• Support ultrasonic cleaning processes, including chemical analysis of ultrasonic baths


• Assist with passivation of metals and post-clean processing


• Maintain clean room standards and ensure compliance with contamination control procedures

What You’ll Need:

• Experience working in an ISO Class 7 clean room environment


• Experience or familiarity with dye penetrant inspection (DPI) or other non-destructive testing methods


• Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing procedures


• Ability to stand for extended periods — you will be on your feet most of the day


• Ability to work 100% on-site in the clean room environment

Nice to Have:

• Proven ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures needed.


• Knowledge of contamination control processes and techniques, clean rooms, laminar flow environments, FOE/FOD, etc.


• Ability to read, interpret and understand written or oral requirements, procedures and specifications to perform assigned tasks.


• Requires the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the work team and those contacted in the course of work.


• Familiarity with 5S and lean procedures expected.


• Requires the ability and willingness to work overtime as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay Range: $25.00 per hour. Commensurate with candidate experience.
