Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and alignment checks to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues across various machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, construction machinery, and farm equipment.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to support repairs or custom modifications.
- Repair and maintain electrical systems and perform soldering or electrical diagnostics to resolve complex issues.
- Assist in the assembly, disassembly, and overhaul of heavy equipment using power tools and mechanical expertise.
- Ensure all repairs meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards while adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in heavy equipment servicing is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, automotive diagnostics, hydraulic systems, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning), and electrical diagnostics.
- Skilled in the use of schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques required for equipment repair.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately to perform precise repairs on diverse machinery types such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance including transmissions and diesel engine repair.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service and safety compliance in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid certifications in heavy equipment operation or construction machinery servicing are a plus; relevant certifications in electrical systems or HVAC are advantageous.
