Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mold and / or Asbestos Inspector to join our environmental testing team. In this vital role, you will conduct thorough inspections to identify the presence of mold and / or asbestos in various building environments, ensuring safety standards are met and regulatory requirements are adhered to. Your expertise will support public health initiatives by assessing environmental hazards, collecting samples, and preparing comprehensive reports. Duties
- Perform visual inspections of residences and structures to detect mold growth and / or asbestos-containing materials
- Collect air and surface samples for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper handling and documentation
- Prepare mold reports outlining inspection results and recommendations for remediation or further action
- Collaborate with clients to communicate findings clearly and effectively
Requirements
- Must hold a valid mold inspector certification issued by a reputable source (i.e. INTERNACHI) and / or an Illinois IDPH Asbestos Inspector License
- Previous experience performing mold and / or asbestos inspections.
- Ability to safely access attics, crawl spaces, basements, and other confined or elevated areas. (ladder provided by employer)
- Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and maintain accurate records.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established inspection protocols
- Proficiency in using mobile apps and software for data collection and reporting
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation
