What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Utilities Foreman position at Precision Earth & Pipe, LLC?
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Utilities Foreman to lead field crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground stormwater, water, and sanitary sewer systems. The Foreman will be responsible for supervising daily operations on active construction sites, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and regulations. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of underground utility construction, and the ability to coordinate crews, equipment, and materials to keep projects on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage people, solve problems on-site, and communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Resolve field issues, unexpected utility conflicts, or weather delays quickly and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and implement corrective measures on-site.
- Interpret and execute project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Lead, manage, and coordinate a utility crew on installation underground storm, water, and sewer systems
- Represent the company professionally at all times while maintaining strong relationships with clients
- Maintain accurate daily logs, timesheets, delivery tickets, and as-built records and report production rates, delays, incidents, and resource usage regularly.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in underground utility construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, utility drawings, and construction plans.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing conditions in the field.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, work in all weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work extended hours, nights, or weekends as needed based on project schedules.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (If Needed)
