Day In The Life
- Commission, inspect, and maintain engine and power systems equipment
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, rebuild, and test engine components to resolve power system issues
- Read and assemble equipment using technical prints, schematics, and power system drawings
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs while collaborating and cross‑training with partner departments
- Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call rotation and travel to field locations as required
- 5 years of experience as an engine or power systems mechanic; diesel vocational training and additional certifications preferred
- Hands‑on experience with Caterpillar 3512 engines, Detroit engines, small engines, and bi‑fuel systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, including the ability to resolve complex mechanical and hydraulic issues
- Resourceful, self‑motivated professional with strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Positive, team‑oriented communicator able to work independently with minimal supervision; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
