Position Summary
As a Light Duty On‑Vehicle Diesel Technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel pickups and other light‑duty vehicles. This role requires strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a team‑oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel pickups and light‑duty vehicles
- Diagnose and repair engine, electrical, fuel system, HVAC, suspension, brake, and emissions‑related issues
- Conduct full vehicle inspections and recommend services or preventive maintenance
- Use shop‑provided diagnostic software, scan tools, and equipment
- Communicate repair findings and timelines to service advisors
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Assist with other vehicle or shop equipment repairs as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all shop procedures, safety policies, and manufacturer standards
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving diesel technology
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of automotive or diesel technician experience (light/medium duty preferred)
- Strong diagnostic skills in engine, electrical, fuel, HVAC, suspension, and brake systems
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data
- Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic software, and scan tools
- ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license with insurable record
- Professional appearance, reliability, and strong work ethic
- Detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and team‑driven
