Role Description
This is a full-time Hybrid role for a Network Technician. The role is based in Port Huron, MI, with opportunities for partial remote work. The Network Technician role will act as the second line of response for our Client Services Team. The Network Technician’s versatility is critical to PCSI’s overall client success and mission: to create an empowered workday for all our clients. This person will provide prompt, attentive customer service, support escalations from the Client Services Team, and collaborate with Client Leadership to deliver projects on time. The passion and ability to be reliable across multiple technologies are essential to succeeding in the Network Technician role.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoot Level I and II technical issues on Workstations, Networking Equipment, Firewalls, Backup Solutions, Servers, and more.
- Assist with Level III technical issues where able.
- Provide initial root cause analysis to Ticket requests via Help Desk, email, customer portal, and phone.
- Act as an escalation point within the Client Services Team for Level I Technical Tasks and Ticket overflow.
- Perform Technical Lead duties on assigned client accounts and Team projects.
- Create and or participate in annual cost-saving and efficiency improvement projects.
- Establish a continuous improvement approach for client service.
- Be available for potential after-hours and weekend Help Desk and Project support, both remote and onsite (10%).
- Own the pre-deployment of all networking equipment.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a Technical field of study. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Industry Certifications are a plus.
- 2 years of experience in the IT Service field.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft OS and Microsoft 365.
- Working knowledge of networking principles relative to switches, routers, and wireless devices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive to completion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel onsite to clients and office as required (estimated 55-60%).
