What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing/Logistics position at Precision Components?
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Source and procure all raw materials, MRO supplies, equipment, and services at the best cost/value.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels using min/max inventory management and just-in-time purchasing strategies.
- Analyze system reports and inventory trends to forecast purchasing needs.
- Create, manage, track and receive purchase orders while maintaining accurate purchasing records.
- Monitor delivery schedules and proactively communicate delays or supply chain issues.
- Develop relationships with vendors and manage costs
- Process small package shipments with UPS WorldShip software. Create Bills of Lading for LTL shipment and export documents as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years purchasing experience.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with changing priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems is highly desirable.
