Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Multi Craft Maintenance Technician to join our plastics manufacturing team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing compounding and injection molding equipment.
This position is responsible for keeping production machinery operating safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime. The successful candidate will be mechanically skilled, dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on compounding and injection molding machines.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and basic control-system issues.
- Diagnose equipment failures and restore machinery to safe operating condition.
- Maintain and repair conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, extruders, mold equipment, and related production systems.
- Assist with mold changes, machine setups, equipment adjustments, and production line support.
- Inspect machinery and identify potential problems before equipment failure occurs.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Complete maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and parts documentation.
- Work closely with production and engineering personnel to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Support continuous improvement and equipment-upgrade projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of industrial maintenance experience in a plastics, manufacturing, or similar production environment.
- Proven experience working on and maintaining compounding and injection molding machines.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Experience with working with 480, 240,120 V AC, 3 phase and single phase, 24 v dc controls.
- Experience with Process water filtration systems including chillers, cooling towers, water pumps.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical components, motors, sensors, relays, and controls.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of machine safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a production environment.
- Ability to lift, stand, bend, climb, and work around industrial machinery for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical training or relevant certifications are a plus.

- Welding, fabrication, machining, or millwright experience
- PLC and automated equipment troubleshooting
- OSHA and lockout/tagout training
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Must be willing to work the required shift (Monday-Friday 7a.m. to 4 p.m.) and overtime, including weekends or emergency call-ins when needed
- Compensation and Benefits
