We are only interviewing candidates with an extensive background in Automtotive Paint/Wheel Repair and Refinishing. This position is for a fixedd location, no driving around all day hunting for wheels.
In this energetic role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality PPG paint finishes to wheels, ensuring each Wheel meets our premium standards. Your skills in surface preparation, painting techniques, and auto refinishing will help us deliver exceptional results to our customers. Duties
- Prepare wheel surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply primers, paints, and coatings using spray guns such as airless or conventional sprayers with precision and consistency.
- Perform repairs including sanding and grinding to restore wheels to factory specifications.
- Conduct auto restoration tasks and automotive buffing to achieve flawless finishes and smooth surfaces.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for surface preparation, sanding, grinding, and finishing tasks efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by properly handling paints, solvents, and hazardous materials with appropriate respiratory protection.
- Collaborate with team members on vehicle maintenance assessments and auto estimating to ensure quality standards are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience or background in automotive body refinishing and/or wheel repair is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, grinders, buffing machines, and spray guns.
- Familiarity with automotive surface preparation techniques including masking, sanding, and auto painting procedures.
- Experience with automotive buffing, auto restoration, and auto body repair processes.
- Knowledge of paints, coatings, and automotive surface preparation materials for high-quality finishes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling wheels or automotive parts during repairs or painting processes.
- Commitment to safety practices including the use of respiratory protection when working with paints and chemicals.
