Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

• Work safely. Adhere to all company and regulatory EH&S policies and procedures. Look for safety issues and notify leadership of all safety concerns.
• Read process card to determine applicable surface finish, ingot length/weight, and labeling requirements.
• Verify alloy composition using NITON (hand held XRF analyzer).
• Visually inspect finished good ingots per customer and internal requirements, as outlined in standard work.
• Use hand-held grinder to remove surface defects, if present.
• Read calipers, micrometer and measure bars for increment cutting.
• Set up increment cutting saw cell to cut ingots to specified weight/length, as required by customer
• Weigh increments and make necessary corrections.
• Determine necessary rework, if ingots cannot be reworked with hand grinder.
• Set up and verify bar marking system, confirm required traceability information is printed on each ingot.
• Communicate to processors corrective procedure to maintain quality.
• Trouble-shoot and assist with repairs.
• Record data on log sheets.
• Record process information and make appropriate entries into GLOVIA.
• Provide input for ordering supplies and tooling.
• Maintain good housekeeping – general cleaning, sweeping, emptying trash hoppers.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Area Manager.
  
  

Minimum Education and Experience

High School graduate, GED, or equivalent required.

Advanced education classes in math preferred.

Other Qualifications

Foundry or manufacturing experience in a related occupation preferred.

• Must be able to physically work in an extreme heat stress environment with exposure to molten metal, dust and fumes and able to wear respirator and other personal protective equipment required for the position.
• Must be physically capable of performing heavy manual duties, operate a variety of machinery and equipment and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to operate a powered industrial truck.
• Must be able to perform basic computer functions.
• Must be able to use ruler, calipers and micrometer accurately.
• Must be able to read technical work instructions.
• Must be able to pass applicable vision testing.
• Must be able to effectively communicate.
• Must be able to exercise good judgment.
• Must work overtime without prior notice.
• Ability to continuously stand for 8 hours, twist, and bend.
• Ability to get on and off forklift or other mobile equipment.
• Regularly lift 35 lbs.
• Must be able to bend/twist.
