Mission:
To assemble complex segmented patterns in a dimensionally controlled fixture in preparation for the gating process.
Principal Accountabilities:
To assemble complex segmented patterns in a dimensionally controlled fixture in preparation for the gating process.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Preparation Objective: to inspect pattern components and dimensional fixture prior to loading.
- Pre-inspects pattern and dimensional fixture prior to start of assembly.
- Reads and follows technique card assembly instructions, which describe numerous unique assembly steps of a complex nature; plans the methods for completing a given assignment and selects among alternative assembly methods.
- Assembly Objective: to accurately assemble complex multi-component patterns to maintain dimensional integrity.
- Assembles complex multi-component patterns by means of torch, hot pencils, and a variety of hand tools.
- Assembles complex patterns using full-time dimensional fixturing to maintain dimensional control and stability.
- Manipulates fixture/pattern components to remove configuration discrepancies and verify dimensional integrity.
- Possibly develops code sheets for engineering-requested modifications or deviations to standard assemblies.
- Inspects assemblies during and after the assembly process to detect defects and ensure quality.
- Ability to apply pattern assembly techniques, methods, materials, fixturing and construction.
- Experience assembling wax patterns and/or pattern finishing is preferred or the equivalent experience.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
- Ability to work in a team environment and promote team development.
