- Reviews Technique Cards, process sheets, blueprints, and drawings.
- Measures and positions castings using a variety of measuring devices and fixtures.
- Calibrates and adjusts fixtures.
- Reviews tooling and castings after rework or changes.
- Removes gates; may complete rough and finish machining.
- Completes precision machining of castings to proper dimensions and configurations using drill presses, mills, lathes and other machines.
- Visually and dimensionally inspects machined parts to assure quality of castings and compliance with PCC and customer specifications.
- Participates in first article inspections.
- Reviews tooling and castings after rework or changes.
- Performs preventive maintenance on machines to optimize machine life.
- Meet or exceed department quality, productivity and efficiency averages.
- Completes all logs and records, including quality deviation reports, standard corrections and Technique Card revisions.

- Communicates knowledge of machinery and casting to less experienced personnel; may train as assigned.

- Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications on Technique Cards and technical manuals.
- Thorough knowledge of CNC machine functions, tooling and setup procedures.
- Ability to work independently and meet timeline schedules.
- Ability to read and use dimensional tools.
- Ability to recognize, evaluate and respond to problems during the machining process.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. (Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
- Basic knowledge of tooling and setup procedures preferred.
