Position Summary
Responsible for developing and executing computer programs and inspection routines to verify dimensional accuracy of development and production parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), BlueLight Inspection systems, and conventional measuring tools. Performs layout inspections, tool and fixture evaluations, and prepares detailed documentation and calibration records.

Key Responsibilities
Safety Compliance
- Adhere to all plant and departmental safety protocols.
- Operate equipment and tools safely and responsibly.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards
- Interpret blueprints and 3D models to identify critical dimensions.
- Establish reference coordinate systems for measurement.
- Perform complex mathematical calculations including geometry and trigonometry.
- Measure and record dimensions using CMM, BlueLight, and manual tools.
- Generate and review detailed inspection reports.
- Compare results against customer specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Engineering to analyze deviations and conduct root cause investigations.
- Inspect and calibrate tools, dies, molds, and fixtures to ensure dimensional compliance.
- Maintain accurate calibration records.
- Develop CMM and BlueLight inspection programs using low-level code and operational commands.
- Create and manage inspection routines, macros, and custom reports.
- Manipulate and transmit data files (ASCII, STL, IGES) as needed.
- Utilize CAD, SolidWorks, Zeiss and other software tools to generate inspection data.
- Document inspection plans, program outputs, and usage instructions.
- Perform other tasks assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
- Mechanical measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)

- On-the-job training and required coursework to stay current with technological advancements.
- Participation in technical training sessions, which may include travel.
- Completion of PCC Metrology Certification or equivalent within 180 days of hire.
- Minimum two years of experience in layout inspection or equivalent certification.
- Proficiency in CMM and BlueLight Inspection systems.
- Experience in off-line programming for CMM operations.
- Strong mathematical skills include geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintains Calibrations of all CMM/BlueLight/Target Machining equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical capability to perform essential job functions.
