Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Heat Treater performs a variety of heat-treating functions in altering the physical and mechanical properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals following established safety and operating procedures in accordance with quality standards.

Under general supervision, the Heat Treater performs a variety of heat-treating functions in altering the physical and mechanical properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals following established safety and operating procedures in accordance with quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prior heat treat operator experience aluminum & pH steels required – prefer aerospace
- Basic knowledge of specifications and standards for heat treating Aerospace materials per (AMS, Boeing, SAE, ETC)
- 1 year minimum documented work experience as certified Aerospace Heat Treat operator, preferred work experience in the last 12 months
- Familiar with NADCAP requirements for Heat Treating of Aluminum and Precipitation Hardening of Steel (Preferred)
- Prior heat treat operator experience aluminum & pH steels required – prefer aerospace.
- Detail oriented for checking and filling out shop logs, charts, manufacturing orders and performing tests
- Load and unload heat treat baskets; Load and unload baskets to and from heat treat furnaces
- Self-motivated, working with minimal supervision and the ability to monitor a helper part time for loading and unloading baskets
- Be self-motivated and detail oriented
- Assist with troubleshooting of the equipment and making recommendations when repairs or upgrades are required.
- Assists with establishing proper calibration procedures for the equipment and test equipment associates with the heat treat process.
- Follows all safety and plant rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Two (2) or more years’ experience working in an industrial environment
- Ability to read and understand customer blue prints and/or drawings
- Demonstrated proficiency using measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures
- Computer skills including experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook programs. Experience using manufacturing based computer programs a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Must be self-directed and able to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to regularly lift or move 50 pounds
- Must be able to work any shift
- High School diploma/GED preferred
