Operate overhead cranes in the forge, heat treat and pipe shops.
Primary Responsibilities
- Move forge dies and make setups in the forge shop
- Remove pipe from press using the overhead pipe crane
- Load pipe into furnaces for heat treat
- Water quench pipe
- Load pipe on O.D and I.D. grinders
- Load pipe on trucks for shipping
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
- Attention to detail in verifying and documenting operational processes
- Strong communication skills to report abnormalities and collaborate effectively.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment while maintaining safety standards
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Operates crane according to signals from helper.
- High school diploma or GED and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Work experience in operating heavy equipment is beneficial.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience operating mobile cranes in construction or similar industries
- Technical training or certification related to manufacturing operations is a plus.
- Experience in the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of crane components is preferred
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
