AUTOMATION ENGINEER
Essential Job Functions
- Support, develop, and improve robotic work cells that meet quality and production requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment and actively promote safety in all automation activities. Immediately report and address any unsafe conditions.
- Programming of ABB/FANUC industrial robots via teach pendant and offline software.
- Create grippers, fixtures, layouts, and other designs in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other software packages.
- Manage multiple capital projects from start to finish.
- Develop and adhere to project timetables and budgets.
- Schedule and manage onsite vendors and contractors.
- Provide after-installation equipment support and improvement.
- Create project presentation content for engineering management.
- Maintain current and accurate documentation for Management of Change, prints, and software change logs.
- Assist other PCC engineering teams on solving equipment-based product problems.
- Use math and statistical information to prove and model plans.
- Train and mentor 1-2 team members as directed.
- Work closely with and favorably represent PCC with customers and suppliers.
- Ability to work between two sites 2 miles apart.
- Ability to travel to complete any requisite training for the role.
- Minimum B.S. in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
- Minimum 1 years of related work experience.
- Logical and analytic approach to problem solving.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with ABB Robot Studio or FANUC Roboguide programming.
- Experience with Cognex, FANUC, or other machine vision tools.
- Understanding of electro-mechanical controls hardware.
- Experience procuring or working with robotic systems.
- Experience with investing, metal finishing/grinding, welding, or 3D inspection.
- Experience managing project timelines and budgets.
- Knowledge of ISO 13849-2, ISO 15066, ISO 12100.
- Experience designing safety rated (SIL) electrical circuits.
- Knowledge heavy industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Experience supervising other engineers and/or technicians.
