Job Description
TITLE: DIRECTOR OF QUALITY CONTROL
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Director of Quality Control is responsible for administering the company quality control program in accordance with customer and company requirements; including the responsibility to reduce scrap in the manufacturing process and to eliminate customer returns.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for establishing procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and consistency including Process procedures and Procedure cards.
- Responsible for determining and enforcing quality requirements in compliance with the Quality Control Manual including the monitoring of all processes to ensure that they are being followed and under compliance.
- Responsible for evaluating and developing improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability, and consistency.
- Responsible for the daily shipping activity and providing completed Certs with all invoices.
- Responsible for heat chemistry, control and documentation.
- Responsible for the daily scrap processing, including measurement of and the reporting of scrap by its causes to department heads, the analysis of the causes and the development and implementation of activities/procedures to measure and reduce scrap and maintain a consistent quality product.
- Responsible for Corrective Action Requests/Reports compliance and reporting.
- Responsible for the physical, fiscal and documentary control of customer returns; for control of in-process inspections; instrumentation and gauge calibration; maintaining the inventory log of all instruments, gauges, and all other measuring devices used in production and delivery of products that meet industry quality standards and other customer requirements; heat treat; other outside processing; non-destructive testing.
- Responsible to participate with the CFO during the monthly physical inventories to correct any and all scrap reporting errors.
- Accountable for all incoming and outgoing inspections; and all internal and external inspecting in cooperation with the final inspection team and lab.
- Responsible to consult with the Senior Management on any matters that will improve job performance and operation of the company.
- Responsible for contract review for castings and to establish quality plans for making parts.
- Responsible for the development of procedure cards for all new products.
- Responsible for the oversight of becoming and maintaining ISO registration.
- Perform other duties as necessary or as requested.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the CEO and works closely with all other groups as necessary to create a positive team spirit.
Experience Required:
4 years of Quality Control Assurance
Investment Casting Industry Experience Prefered
Manufacturing/ Foundry/ Machining Experience Required
Education:
Undergraduate Degree in Engineering/ Metallurgical/ Technical
or
Experience Equivalencies
Salary Negotiable based on Education and more importantly experience.
