Precision Aviation Controls (PAC), located in Independence, KS, is an aviation company specializing in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft engine fuel components and is a subsidiary of Precision Aviation Group (PAG) headquartered in Atlanta, GA.
PAC has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Technician - Level 2, that will work in the Compressor and Rotor department of the facility. This role will disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble, and troubleshoot compressors and rotors. We are looking for a self-directed, dependable mechanic who can work independently, take ownership of assigned work, and consistently meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Previous mechanical experience is required, but not specific to Aviation.
Ideal candidates offers:
- Mechanical skills required for disassembly; assembly; and test of Compressor and Turbine Assemblies
- Ability to read/interpret technical orders and component maintenance manuals
- Must have basic math skill and will be working with calculations using the metric system (specifically grams)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with small components
- Experience with hand tools (i.e., screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
- Experience disassembling mechanical parts
- Ability to work independently
- Must be computer literate to work at an intermediate level Microsoft Excel and other computer applications
- Consistently meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Physical requirement: ability to work while standing for long periods, the dexterity and visual acuity to work with hand tools and assigned components, ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds and work in repetitive motion
