JOB PURPOSE
The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively provide leadership for a small team of technicians while accomplishing maintenance, repair and overhaul services for aircraft turbine engines and their components. Five (5) years of experience is a requirement.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
- Disassembly, Clean, Inspection and Assembly areas of the Prime Turbines Butler HSI/RP shop.
- Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Responsible for tracking and verifying priorities, scheduling and shop output, while
reporting findings to the Site Manager on a daily basis.
- Ensures that proper equipment and safety practices are being used.
- Communicates and coordinates daily maintenance schedules and special requirements with team members.
- Assures that the work area and equipment used by his/her team is adequate and kept in a clean and orderly condition and that all safety instructions are followed.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned by the Site Manager.
- Knowledgeable and experienced using computers and has the ability to develop a good working knowledge of all Microsoft applications.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to provide progress
updates and address any issues or concerns that arise during the cleaning process.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition, by performing routine inspections,
cleaning, and minor repairs as needed.
- Ability to operate hand tools, machining lathe, power tools and measuring instruments necessary to perform job assignments.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Read and interpret aircraft diagrams, charts and schematics.
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Work and bend in confined work space.
- Must have manual dexterity required for technician.
- Must have own hand tools. Special tooling will be supplied by company.
- Department of Homeland Security proof of employment eligibility verification.
Qualifications
- A&P License is required.
- Pratt Whitney engine experience a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years aviation related experience and/or training
- Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, Microsoft word and Excel
experience preferred with ability to understand and use all Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as
required.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal English
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices and compliance.
- Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting
hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries.
- Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance and equipment operation
requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated: Ability to use appropriate safety equipment, hand tools, small machine lathe.
Work Location: PAG Engine Services / Prime Turbines in Butler PA
Education/Training: High School diploma and Airframe/Powerplant License.
Experience: At least five (5) years of related experience in maintenance, repair and overhaul of
turbine engines.
Certificates/Licenses: Airframe & Powerplant license, drivers license.
Other: Other duties may be assigned in role to support other personnel or projects.
