JOB PURPOSE
To perform high-precision welding on aircraft components and structures using TIG and other specialized welding techniques. This role ensures the structural integrity, safety, and compliance of welded parts with aviation industry standards. The welder contributes to the manufacturing, repair, and maintenance of aircraft by delivering high-quality, inspection-ready welds on thin-gauge aerospace materials, with an emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform high-precision TIG welding on thin-gauge materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and aerospace welding specifications.
- Execute welding tasks in compliance with FAA, AS9100, and NADCAP standards.
- Conduct or assist with spray welding and metallizing processes to repair or build up surfaces on aviation components.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds to ensure structural integrity and compliance.
- Maintain and calibrate welding equipment, ensuring readiness and proper function.
- Document all work performed in accordance with quality assurance and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and technicians to meet production goals and standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- *Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weight up to 50 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Experience: At least 4 years of related experience in Tig welding or related field preferred.
Certificates/Licenses: AMS-STD-1595 or AWS D17.1 desired but not required.
