This position is located in McMinnville, Oregon, in the beautiful Willamette Valley. We are seeking candidates who can work in a hybrid role effectively from both a home office and our McMinnville office (minimum of three days per week).

Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role will assist with general ledger activities, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable support, and monthly close tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated to grow professionally within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies each month.
- Maintain detailed schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and inventory throughout the month; prepare and post corresponding month-end journal entries.
- Perform daily and monthly cash reconciliations, investigating variances and ensuring proper recording of cash transactions.
- Assist the Accounting Manager in the preparation of financial statements, providing supporting documentation and analysis as needed.
- Initiate accounts payable payments and respond to vendor inquiries with professionalism and clarity, ensuring AP personnel record transactions in accordance with accrual-based accounting.
- Support the Accounts Receivable team with customer invoicing, cash application, collections follow-up, and special projects as needed.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to deadlines.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting workflows and strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather information and help drive operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 years of full-cycle General Ledger (GL) accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
- High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online (QBO), NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Work Environment
This position is located in an office environment with frequent use of a computer and related hardware. A person must be able to stand and/or sit; see, hear and talk; use hands to type, handle or feel tools or controls; use hands and arms to reach. Occasionally lifting/moving up to 10lbs is also required.
