Position Summary

The Engineering Manager oversees all Manufacturing Engineers, providing leadership, direction, and technical oversight to ensure manufacturing readiness, process optimization, and successful execution of new and existing production. This role requires strong technical knowledge, proven leadership experience, and excellent administrative and organizational skills.

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Designs, implements, and refines product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel to adhere to schedule/delivery requirements
  • Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes
  • Oversees project logistics and resource allocation
  • Presents project and schedule timelines to senior management and communicates critical task milestones in an effective manner
  • Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste
  • Secures the resources needed for the engineering team to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments
  • Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies
  • Attends trade shows and conferences, and makes site visits to suppliers’ facilities
  • Advocates on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for success
  • Communicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and potential customers
  • Maintains high level expertise in their field or sector
  • Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines
  • Collaborates with other team leaders and departments
  • Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers

Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field highly preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer required
  • 3 or more years of experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role required
  • Strong understanding of machining, CNC programming, tooling, and aerospace manufacturing processes
  • Experience with 5-axis machining and multi-axis CNC programming strongly preferred
  • Strong administrative skills, including organization, documentation, scheduling, and follow-through
  • Experience with advanced engineering software (CAD/CAM) and ERP systems preferred
  • Ability to effectively present technical information to leadership, staff, and customers
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and ability to prioritize in fast-paced environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and related tools
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead teams to meet deadlines

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, writing, and typing
  • Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Occasional reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion
  • Ability to wear required PPE such as earplugs, safety glasses, and safety shoes
