Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using various accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage account analysis, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure data integrity.
- Assist with budgeting processes by preparing financial reports and analyzing variances.
- Support governmental accounting requirements and procedures as needed.
- Conduct account reconciliation tasks including general ledger reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Compile financial reports, perform account analysis, and write clear financial summaries for management review.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain thorough documentation for all transactions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with familiarity in bookkeeping practices.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
- Excellent skills in spreadsheets (Excel, 10 key typing, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation efficiently.
- Strong understanding of debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial report writing.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately under deadlines.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail combined with excellent communication skills.
- Construction and project cost accounting required.
