Supplier Quality Engineer

Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, Precipart is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer, Level ll to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and manage supplier quality across our global supply base. The Supplier Quality Engineer will perform supplier quality activities in compliance with Precipart standards and applicable regulations, including ISO 13485, AS9100, and ISO 9001. Lead supplier validations, qualification, risk mitigation, complaint handling, and corrective action activities with limited supervision. Actively support supplier audits, customer-related investigations, and cross-functional quality initiatives while independently managing moderately complex supplier quality projects to ensure supplier compliance, product quality, and on-time delivery. Due to the nature of our business and the requirement to access export-controlled technical data, this role is limited to individuals who qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR. Essential Functions

• Perform supplier quality process in compliance with Precipart standards and other applicable regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, AS9100 and ISO 9001).
• Qualify new suppliers in alignment with the Supply Chain and Sourcing teams.
• Conduct supplier risk assessments and implement mitigation actions.
• Monitor incumbent supply base performance (on-time delivery, quality performance, certification status, etc.).
• Drive completion of supplier related non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Establish and maintain supplier records and corrective action system files.
• Prepare and execute company-wide supplier quality audits (remote and on-site) in accordance with internal procedures.
• Develop and approve supplier validations of new products ensuring on-time and quality deliverables.
• Support Manufacturing NPI projects in alignment with Quality Engineering.
• Partner with Quality Systems & Quality Engineering to ensure compliance across all quality functions.
• Assist in quality investigations with customers when a supplier is involved, tracking complaints through to satisfactory completion.
• Identify and implement appropriate corrective actions to resolve concerns in line with ISO/AS, company, and customer requirements.
• Stay current with best practices, trends, standards and share knowledge with team members.
• Support customer and notified body audits as required.
• Responsible for conforming with the Company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.
  
  

Required Experience / Skills / Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3 years of relevant experience in supplier quality engineering.
• Strong understanding of validation processes (IQ, OQ, PQ, PPAP), core quality tools (FMEA, 8D, MSA), and manufacturing techniques.
• Strong understanding of supplier quality processes, including qualification, auditing, and part validations.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances, special characteristics, etc.
• Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical ability
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities
• A self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
• Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and dependability
• Flexible and adaptable to change with a forward -thinking mindset
• Domestic and international travel up to 20%

Preferred Experience / Skills / Education

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or another related field
• Certified Quality Auditor
• Speaks German and/or French
  
  

Pay Range: $85,000 to $110,000 annual salary

Note: While this position is primarily targeted at Level II, highly qualified candidates with significant experience and proven success in supplier quality may be considered for Level III. The compensation for this role will be determined through our assessment process, taking into account your qualifications.
