Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of childhood development. This role involves supporting lead teachers in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for students, particularly those with special needs. The Teacher Assistant will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and growth for all students.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
- Support students with special education needs, ensuring they receive appropriate assistance.
- Engage with children during classroom activities, encouraging participation and positive behavior.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the lead teacher.
- Facilitate small group activities and one-on-one support as needed.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
- Assist with daily routines, including snack time, outdoor play, and transitions between activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and needs.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, preschool, or as a nanny or babysitter.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Familiarity with special education practices and experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- First aid certification is a plus.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
- Excellent communication skills and a nurturing demeanor towards children of all ages.
