Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck for local deliveries, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while practicing safe lifting practices.
- Deliver goods directly to customers’ locations, providing courteous customer service and ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
- Use mobile devices or route navigation tools to follow assigned delivery routes efficiently and on schedule.
- Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit; assist with load & unload procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reports related to shipments, vehicle condition, and delivery status.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, commercial driving, or delivery driving roles involving box trucks or similar vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving.
- Familiarity with manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks is a plus.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and moving items.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, weight handling in the workplace, and safe lifting practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries.
- Ability to adhere to safety protocols including proper use of material handling equipment and load securing techniques.
- Prior experience with route driving using mobile devices.
