Job Summary
Precast Concrete Sales Company is seeking a motivated and skilled Truck Driver specializing in Boom Truck operation (OR WILLING TO LEARN BOOM OPERATIONS) to join our dynamic construction and materials handling team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting materials to various construction sites and job locations. Your expertise in crane operations, load handling procedures, will ensure efficient and secure delivery while adhering to all safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate boom trucks and other heavy lifting equipment such as forklifts to load, unload, and position materials accurately on construction sites and in our yard.
- Safely secure loads using load securing rigging methods, and appropriate safety equipment to prevent shifting or falling during transit.
- Transport materials between our yard and to job sites, while complying with commercial driving regulations.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of the truck, hydraulics systems, lifting equipment, and safety devices to ensure optimal functioning before each shift.
- Follow construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards during all crane operations and materials handling activities.
- Assist with shipping & receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, documenting deliveries, and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with our yard supervisors and team members to ensure proper load handling procedures are followed, and the correct material is loaded on to the truck.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record for operating boom trucks.
- Proven experience operating cranes such as boom trucks, and forklifts.
- Mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, lifting equipment maintenance, and load handling procedures.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards for crane operation and materials handling.
- Ability to perform routine inspections on boom trucks, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
- Experience working in construction workplaces with knowledge of construction site safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members regarding loading, unloading and safety procedures.
