Florence House, one of Preble Street’s Housing First programs, provides comprehensive supportive services, shelter, and permanent housing for women 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Florence House currently has an available 2nd shift Housing Support Staff position. This direct service position outreaches and engages with clients and tenants, participates in casework service provision, provides program coverage and maintains safety in program spaces, provides crisis intervention and support, and assists clients and tenants in meeting housing goals and maintaining housing stability.
The schedule for this position is Sunday - Thursday 2pm- 10:30pm
Qualifications:Qualifications include a combination of work experience, education, and/or training likely to provide the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the work of the Housing Support Staff, as well as an understanding of and alignment with Preble Street’s mission, positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty, and a commitment to providing low-barrier services. Mental Health Support Specialist (MHSS) certification is required and can be obtained on the job/after hire.
Required skills and knowledge include strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills; familiarity with community resources; ability to work with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations; and the ability to work as part of a team.
Housing Support Staff are required to remain awake for the duration of shifts, and require work during evening, and weekend hours, with regular and consistent attendance.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate of pay for this full-time (40 hours/week) position is $23.12 per hour, plus shift differentials of $1 or $2 per hour. This position is eligible for shift differentials of $.2.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 10:00pm and 7:00am or $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm.
