What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Technician position at Preble Soil and Water Conservation District?
The Preble Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time District Technician position.
Details are as follows:
· 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
· Compensation commensurate with education and experience
· Eligible for Preble County health insurance program
· PERS Retirement benefits
· Paid Vacation and Sick Leave benefits
Job duties include:
· Field work and design of conservation projects.
· Assisting the public with natural resources concerns, including drainage and erosion control.
· Other duties as required to provide SWCD services.
Applicants must meet the following job qualifications:
· Be at least 18 years of age and in possession of a valid driver’s license
· Pass a background check
· Possess an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in Agriculture, Engineering, or Natural Resources
· Current college students in their last year of coursework pursuing a related degree may be considered and are encouraged to apply.
· Able to work independently and in a team environment
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel programs
· Knowledge of CAD and ArcGIS preferred
