Responsibilities
- Operate a wide range of construction machinery including excavators, skid steers, and dozers. Experience with lasers and gps is a plus.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment such as concrete mixers, cranes, dozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating equipment; utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with site preparation activities including grading, trenching, and foundation work using heavy machinery like front loader trucks and construction dozers.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, maintenance activities, and safety checks.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines while prioritizing safety at every step.
Skills
- Proven experience operating construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, dozers, and other heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on construction equipment; familiarity with hydraulics and hand tools is essential.
- Knowledge of construction site safety procedures including proper use of PPE and adherence to occupational safety regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and operate complex machinery safely following all safety protocols.
- Experience with construction site activities such as material handling, site clearing, grading, and foundation work.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
