What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-K Classroom Support Aide position at Pre-K Counts - PIC?

- Wharton Elementary in Uniontown Area School District
The Classroom Support Personnel assists with instruction and guidance to preschool children in a nurturing classroom environment to prepare them for successful entry into the school system. Support both children and families through education, communication, and transition planning, ensuring each child’s developmental, social, and emotional growth is fostered in alignment with the PA Early Learning Standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Support classroom instruction by assisting teachers with daily activities that build children’s social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment where preschoolers can explore, learn, and prepare for kindergarten success.
- Conduct child observations and help maintain accurate developmental records and reports.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment in accordance with ECERS guidelines and all safety/health procedures.
- Collaborate with families and staff to ensure smooth transitions for children into the school system.
- Promote inclusion, creativity, and respect in all classroom interactions and activities.
What You Bring:
Education:
- Minimum of a Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or
- Associate degree or 60 college credits in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Experience:
- Prefer experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting.
Skills & Attributes:
- Enthusiasm for early learning and child development.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing classroom needs.
