Cleaner - Jersey City

The Cleaner plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for tenants and guests. This position ensures high standards of cleanliness throughout interior and exterior common areas, including deep cleaning, sanitizing high-traffic spaces, restocking supplies, and assisting with trash disposal. The Cleaner also reports maintenance concerns and contributes to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere for all residents and visitors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deep clean and sanitize vacant apartments to prepare for new residents.
• Maintain cleanliness of common area bathrooms and shared spaces to ensure a fresh and hygienic environment.
• Sweep, mop, wash, buff, and vacuum floors to maintain a polished appearance.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including furniture and high-touch areas.
• Clean mirrors and polish fixtures to maintain a bright and welcoming atmosphere.
• Empty trash cans and remove debris, recycling, and other waste promptly and efficiently.
• Notify the Superintendent of maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or malfunctioning equipment.
• Ensure building security by locking doors as needed.
• Identify and report violations, hazards, or cleanliness concerns to the Superintendent.
• Suggest practical solutions to address recurring issues.
• Perform light preventative maintenance tasks assigned.

Education & Experience:

• Basic literacy skills sufficient to read, write, and communicate as required for the role.
• Previous cleaning experience in a residential or commercial setting is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend, push, and pull frequently.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Salary : $18 - $20
