What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Material Handler 2nd position at Praxis Packaging?
Overview
Accurately and in a timely manner, move job materials and production supplies to lines and pick up finished skids. Assist with Shipping & Receiving functions, as needed. Work with all supervision and employees to ensure that cGMPs and Praxis’ SOPs, policies and work instructions are being followed. Maintain policies and quality standards on the production floor and in the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Receive IRRs and stage lines, as designated.
- Assist with, as needed - moving finished skids to the skid wrapper and scanning them in proper shipping location when complete.
- Maintain good housekeeping and a safe work environment. Ensure trash and debris is removed in a timely manner.
- Complete PIT Inspection Form at the beginning of shift and assist with minor Powered Industrial Truck maintenance (add water battery, cleanliness, etc.).
- Follow check in and check out procedures for tablets and other company property. Must use tablet for material movement.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
- Make sure the production racks and staging areas are safe, organized and clean (5S) at all times.
- Instills a sense of quality through modeled quality behaviors and mindset.
- Assists with Training and Orientation.
- Elevates complaints and problems to Supervision, seeks Management assistance if needed.
- Ensures proper PPE’s and Safety procedures are followed.
- Flexibly works other shifts, shifts maybe 8, 10 or 12 hours as needed.
- Assists in Inventory Cycle Counts as needed.
- Assists in coordinating schedule and break time adjustments for adequate coverage. (Weekends, in early, out late, etc.)
- Communicates with Supervision on Pallet Trailers and Recycling Trailers.
- Assists in completion of request for additional material requests.
- Maintains good attendance and tardy record
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-3 years’ experience in this role.
- Maintain Powered Industrial Truck certification – must be able to meet company licensing requirements for power industrial trucks required for the position - sit down, stand up and power platform.
- The ability to work independently, without supervision required.
- Ability to organize priorities and workload required.
