For this entry-level position, we are seeking an energetic, motivated candidate that wants to learn maintenance support functions from the ground up. Beginning with Kit Cart management, maintenance, and scrapping for the F117 program, you will migrate into a Materials Analyst role as you develop knowledge and skills in support of this engine program.
Once familiar with day-to-day operations and processes, you will identify parts and appropriate codes, ensuring that all pieces needed to complete a maintenance task are present. You will also assist with parts reconciliation and expediting of materials to and from the shop floor.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating the parts tracking process on the shop floor.
- Using SAP to reconcile parts, coordinate part swaps, exchanges, reconcile Kits, perform research on material, process orders, and navigate transactions to resolve recurring issues.
- Develop Excel spreadsheets reflecting data driven requirements or material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.
- Attend and be prepared to brief at material review meetings, update weekly and monthly statuses for materials, and be able to talk to specific issues within the HMC.
- Research and locate material within the Illustrated Parts Data.
- Coordinate the routing of parts to outside vendors and to internal repair.
- Assist with reconciliation activities to ensure that all part requirements identified at the close of Gate 1 (disassembly) are recorded and accurate.
- Track all material required for Gate 2 (parts requirements) for kitting and ensure kitting is completed in a timely manner.
- Provide materials support for Gate 3 (assembly) and Gate 4 (Test Cell)
- Interface with Operations Personnel and others in the F117 Materials Department on a daily basis for other support tasks as required
- Review SAP analysis and Bill of Material to develop kitting layouts for new cart requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors on kit cart requirements.
- Participate in ACE events, teams, committees, events, training that improve the HMC organization and support achieving Cell and Site ACE objectives.
- Implement continuous improvement projects for the F117 Materials section.
- Coordinate with delivery assurance personnel, Third Party Logistics, and Wage Grade personnel.
This position also affords the opportunity to work with materials groups on other engine families such as F119 and F135.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior material scheduling experience in an aerospace Maintenance Repair & Operations environment is preferred. An understanding of Microsoft Office programs functionality. Prefer experience as a day-to-day user of SAP, entering transactions and running reports. Experience participating in teams to achieve successful results. The ability to work in a start-up environment with flexible roles and responsibilities, limited formal training and firm deliverables. Demonstrated commitment to Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies, procedures and best practices.
Education/Certifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required, preference for a technical or engineering discipline or business with logistics/supply chain focus.
Experience/Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Fewer than 3 years of experience in aircraft/propulsion maintenance or other aviation industry experience. Supply chain, logistics, or purchasing/contracts experience is also acceptable.
- US Citizen due to government contracts
- Possess or be able to obtain Secret Clearance
- Must have flexibility to cover off-shift and overtime once trained.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise resource planning systems, specifically SAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Powerpoint to capture, analyze, and present on data.
- Prior military service or a maintenance background a plus.
- The ability to work in cross-functional teams on a wide variety of tasks and with limited supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of the business and customers
