Job Summary: An aircraft mechanic maintains the engines of aircrafts to meet FAA standards. This job involves tasks such as performing routine checks and repairs, keeping records of inventory, and identifying faults with components of the plane.

This is a 1st Shift position: Monday – Thursday 5 am – 3:30 pm

This is a FAA safety sensitive role

What You Will Do:

  • Engine disassembly/assembly - Perform mechanic duties to disassemble and assemble engines, engine modules and accessories.
  • Clean - Perform cleaning of engine parts and components.
  • Perform visual checks to assess minimal part condition for continued use where applicable. Understand the basic inspection techniques as a part of a career development path.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
  • Ability to manage tools and tooling to ensure serviceability before and after use and process appropriately when issues arise

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 1 years’ mechanic experience for aircraft parts
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Value:

  • A&P License or 2 years’ aviation, aerospace and/or previous mechanical experience
  • Turbine engine overhaul, and repair experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Assembly
  • Ability to identify and resolve configuration and compatibility issues
  • Completion of CORE Basics and creation of CORE profile (internal candidates)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Familiar with SAP
  • Willing to work any shift

Pratt & Whitney Columbus, GA is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

The salary range for this role is - . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
