Pratt & Whitney is seeking Senior Product Definition Engineer to support our Mechanical System Externals & Nacelles (MSEN) department.
What You Will Do:
- Perform detailed Product Definition reviews to ensure engineering designs meet PD ESW standards, design intent, and part‑family requirements.
- Partner closely with Mechanical Systems Engineers to develop MSEN engine hardware, including components such as bearing housings, supports, carbon seals, castings, oil tanks, and gears.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of parametric 3D Siemens NX models and associated 2D or Model‑Based Definition outputs, ensuring adherence to requirements.
- Apply tolerance and geometric analysis to confirm accurate part‑to‑part relationships and overall producibility.
- Support IPTs as the Product Definition representative while maintaining essential Teamcenter/NX data for Class I and II engineering activities.
- Mentor and coach junior Product Definition practitioners, manage resource planning (including outsourced work), and create or review 3D models and definition files in alignment with design intent and Product Definition Standard Work.
- Travel Requirement: 10% (Domestic).
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree with 7 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes drafting/product definition with experience in ASMEY 14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Strong skills in NX and Teamcenter tools and processes.
- Strong communication and teaming skills.
- Experience in Model Based Definition (MBD).
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance.

- Mechanical System Externals & Nacelles (MSEN): Mechanical System Product Definition is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all large structural castings, bearing housings, oil nozzles, bearing compartment hardware, oil tanks and gears for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.
