What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Revenue Cycle position at Pratt Regional Medical Center?
Job Summary: The Revenue Cycle Director works under the general supervision of the Controller. This position is responsible for ensuring that patient billing and processing of payment receipts are consistently completed timely and in accordance with internal and external policies. The Revenue Cycle Director will minimize bad debt, improve cash flow, and effectively manage accounts receivable. This position will coordinate effective management of revenue cycle activities across the organization to include, but not limited to charge entry, coding, billing, collections, financial counseling for patients and staff training.
Qualifications/Experience & Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of 10 years medical insurance/healthcare billing and collections experience with a deep understanding of medical billing rules and regulations. Five (5) years supervisory or management experience preferred. Thorough understanding of medical billing, collections and payment posting, revenue cycle, third-party payers, Medicare. Well versed in CPT and ICD10 codes and procedural modifiers, claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits, and appeal process. Proficient in EMR software and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Education: Minimum bachelor's degree in business administration, Health Care Administration or related field is preferred, and at least two years' experience managing in a healthcare setting, or master's degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Business, or related field and one-year experience.
