Pratt Institute is seeking a full-time Utility Porter to join its Facilities Management Team who will perform duties in support of the maintenance and upkeep of Pratt's buildings and grounds. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of various cleaning techniques and cleaning equipment, as well as hands-on experience in housekeeping, exceptional customer service skills, and a desire to help the team keep Pratt clean! This is a Local 311 position at a rate of $27.6992/Hour
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required; Associate degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and License: Knowledge of different types of cleaning equipment and the safe use of chemical cleaning agents. Must have the ability to work well with diverse populations; and demonstrated level of cultural competence. Must be able to meet physical requirement for position and be able to work in inclement weather as needed or directed. NYS Driver License required.

- Maintain and clean office equipment, floors, walls, rugs, stairwells, lounges, bathrooms, lobbies, elevators and locker and storage facilities
- Mop, sweep, wash tiles and wall surfaces; remove trash and snow; apply cleaning agents
- Maintain cleaning equipment; oil, lubricate, clean and ensure equipment is in safe operating condition
- Move furniture and equipment as needed or directed
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
