JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS
REPORTS TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
JOB SUMMARY / OVERVIEW:
Primarily responsible for promoting a positive image and growth for PrairieStar and its services to Reno County and surrounding areas, bringing PrairieStar to the forefront in the minds of the population. Build connections with community leaders, associations and various arts and entertainment venues to create partnerships that enhance all who are involved. Responsible for all creative design, managing, supervising and coordinating all marketing materials and public relation needs of PrairieStar.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

- Responsible for creating marketing plan and budgets yearly.
- Handle all marketing related aspects of materials for all media including radio, television, newspaper, publications, outdoor, Facebook, digital sites and other miscellaneous media as needed.
- Responsible for all creative, copy, design, layout and finished art for all print materials as well as other marketing venues like signage, directories, posters, direct mail, vehicle wraps, booth design and various other specialty marketing items.
- Must have knowledge of print processing and equipment as well as understanding paper quality and types of products appropriate for materials to be produced.
- Copy and Creative direction for radio and television and event video projects.
- Develop, create and design specific campaigns as needed for providers and services as well as new services that come on board.
- In addition there are interior marketing needs for posters, signs, art, directories and various other materials for information and services to be coordinated with other materials cohesively.
- Promote PrairieStar in Hutchinson and Reno County by visiting retirement facilities, schools, clubs, businesses, agencies and other potential community partners. Provide programs to educate groups about PrairieStar services and providers.
- Encourage and Host a tour of PrairieStar for those who show interest in learning more about PrairieStar and all they have to offer. Offer auditorium for small events and provide a brief summary of what PrairieStar has to offer as an introduction to events if possible.
- Seek opportunities to forge new partnerships with other agencies and leaders in the community and surrounding areas as well as the arts and entertainment field. Be involved, along with staff, when appropriate and help with events as well as provide financial support in certain venues.
- Participate in selected health fairs as well as career fairs and business to business events.
- Develop and manage marketing publications, materials, media advertising and various displayed that may be needed.
- Develop and manage fundraising events and activities.
- Update the PrairieStar administration team as needed to discuss marketing plans and community activities.
- Participate in clinic and administrative meetings as requested.
- Responsible for inventory of forms and paper family materials, promotional materials and various printed materials such as stuffers. Manage ordering of these materials as well as finding sources for new items.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing and graphics design recommended but not required.
- Minimum of three years managing all aspects of marketing and public relations
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Must have at least three years with advance working knowledge of Adobe products, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design. Experience in QuarkXPress is a plus.
- Three to five years of strong healthcare marketing experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of internet marketing strategies and website changes and updates.
- Speaking and communication skills when working with staff as well as outside groups is important for programs and presentations which reflect PrairieStar’s services and values.
- Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner.
- Demonstrate initiative and function independently.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent computer skills / efficiency.
