Information Technology Support Technician - Jacksonville, IL

PAY RANGE: $50,000 to $70,000 / Year

Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications.

In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, and performance-based increases and bonuses.

The Information Technology Support Technician will provide reliable, responsive technical support to employees across the organization. This position will troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and other technology issues while helping employees use the systems and tools they need to perform their jobs effectively.

The ideal candidate is a dependable problem-solver who enjoys helping others, has strong technical skills, and can communicate technical information clearly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first-level technical support to employees by phone, in person, and through remote support.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, printer, mobile device, and connectivity issues.

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, laptops, monitors, printers, mobile devices, and other technology equipment.

Assist with the setup and deployment of technology and equipment for new employees.

Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including equipment setup, account access, and technology needs.

Assist with user account administration, password resets, permissions, and access requests.

Monitor and respond to IT support requests and maintain accurate documentation of issues and resolutions.

Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate IT team members or outside vendors when necessary.

Assist with network connectivity, wireless systems, telecommunications, and other infrastructure-related issues.

Support business applications and software used throughout the organization.

Assist with technology upgrades, system implementations, equipment replacements, and IT projects.

Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment and technology assets.

Help ensure computers and devices receive appropriate updates, patches, and security protections.

Educate employees on basic technology use, cybersecurity, and best practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Requires a high school degree or the equivalent.

Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Two (2) years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of information technology skills.

Previous experience providing technical or help-desk support preferred.

Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, computers, printers, mobile devices, and common business technology.

Basic understanding of networking, wireless connectivity, cybersecurity, and troubleshooting techniques.

Ability to explain technical information to individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge.

Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery systems.

This position requires driving for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure their well-being and the safety of others.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as required for loading and unloading.

The role involves physical labor, including lifting and moving heavy products.

Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.

High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
